I remember when I did the test print it went to a Brother printer instead of the Epson. I recall when I originally installed this printer the installation was flakey, and I concluded the Epson software despite what they say was not totally Win8 compatible. Something not right here, but I guess that is the price of using Windows. This time it worked and I got the version up to the current 6.75. I then installed the downloaded driver update for the second time, starting with the printer unplugged. ![]() However it was version 6.72, and the screen capture I had saved from the pre W8.1 days indicated I had version 6.75. It installed properly and I got my detailed driver options back. Then used the original install disk from Epson while following their instructions. It was convinced I had the "best" driver.ĭecided to delete the printer and unplug it. Tried to get Windows to choose another driver using Device Manager, and could not make it do that. Still stuck with the primitive driver options. ![]() I downloaded the driver update and installed it.
